How can I make the switch?

The rest is up to your supplier, they will be alerted to their new customer and sort out all the finer details, they will contact you after the two week cooling off period with follow up information about your service and switchover date.

Some helpful information to bear in mind:
- You may hear from your old supplier who will want a final meter reading in order to generate a final bill.
- You will not automatically be with your new supplier as soon as you switch, the entire process takes 17 days (three days plus a two week cooling off period).
- Make sure you cancel your direct debit to your old supplier so you will not be billed twice
- If you change your mind and no longer want to switch you have 14 days to contact your new supplier and cancel the switch
- If you are on a fixed term plan make a note of the end date and start looking around for a better deal about two months before the end date, most companies will require at least one month's notice if you are not going to renew with them.
